One of the other great things about the recent crop of independent film festivals is that they've brought a lot of great international films along with them too. Apart from celebrating Filipino filmmakers and bolstering local cinema, these film festivals also bring home some of the best from the rest of the world, including films from the awards circuits.

The latest festival to bring us these sorts is the Cinema One Originals Festival, which has brought in 13 award-winning world cinema films, including ones from France, Australia, Norway, Hungary, and India. You can catch them this month at Trinoma, Gateway, Powerplant, and Glorietta:

Harry March, returning from the Western Front, is appointed as the new station operator, and Sam is sent out with his wife and daughter to help renovate the outpost. As a result, Sam becomes a wanted criminal for the murder of a white man, and is forced to flee into the deadly outback with his wife.
