This Twitter Account Dubs Filipino Pop Culture Classics and Memes... in French

In case you needed more evidence that Twitter is wild, a crazy new meme has hit the platform: dubbing Filipino pop culture classics like movie scenes, viral videos, and more in different languages. So, if you've always wanted to know what Maricel Soriano and Zsa Zsa Padilla's iconic confrontation scene sounds like in French, then today's your lucky day.
One account that's doing it particularly well is @anri_fr. The account hopped in on the meme on May 2 by tweeting a translation of Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin: "Arrête me dire "Terry," réponds à ma question. Est-ce que tu baises mon mari?"
The guy behind the account says he started taking French language classes every Saturday since last year. After getting the basics of the language, he complemented his studies by watching YouTube videos and Italki classes (an online language learning platform). He's currently in A2 level at Alliance Française de Manille, but he admits he still has a long way to go.
It seems now, the account is taking requests. Currently, some in the running include Janina San Miguel's infamous Binibining Pilipinas 2008 answer, memes from the early days of Filipino internet, and more. It's good French practice, that's for sure. Watch some of our favorites from the account below.
