Say What You Want About the Golden Globes-The Night Delivered on Memes

f there’s anything that draws more buzz than the Golden Globes, it’s the memes from the Golden Globes. Tom Hanks cackling, Meryl Streep guffawing, and all the drunk, celebrity antics an audience could ask for. If the red carpet rolls out, the A-listers show out. And show out they did this year for the big return of the 80th Golden Globes Awards, donning their dapper outfits, downing drinks, and bearing their hearts in impassioned acceptance speeches. (Stephanie Hsu? We saw you crying. And it warmed our cold little hearts.)
Critics were previously skeptical if anyone would show up to the grand affair—or if anyone would bother to watch at home—but at the very least, the reactions on social media seem to tell another story. Of notable interest, of course, was Austin Butler... Still. Doing. The. Elvis. Voice. Plus, we saw some much-needed love for The Banshees of Inisherin's true star, Jenny the Donkey. Don't forget everyone giving a much-needed "Yes, Chef!" to the great Jeremy Allen White, who was deservedly recognized for his performance in The Bear. (Season Two? We need it, stat.) And just a reminder, people—Austin Butler is still doing the damn Elvis voice.
Regardless, the Golden Globes were always like the fun aunt/drunk uncle of the awards show family, and the Internet was apparently down for the chaos once again. Below, we’ve rounded up the funniest and most outlandish responses to this year’s revamped celebration of all things film and television.
