Someone Created a Tagalog Voltes V Music Video Featuring Debold Sinas

Should someone tell Toei Company?

Let’s Debold in!” That was the rallying call at the end of the cringe-worthy music video featuring newly installed PNP Chief Debold Sinas, whose obsession with Voltes V is well documented. As if this four-minute Voltes V exercise wasn’t enough, someone thought of taking things to the next level and created the music video honoring the Philippines’ top cop.

We were awestruck when we saw this ripoff music video making rounds on social media. Based on the number of heart reactions, we could say many people were impressed. The music is not so bad, considering we’re used to hearing the blaring jingles of politicians using similar repurposed music during elections. The real crime here is the visuals.

Lightning and fire effects are overlaid on white text, an exploding COVID-19 virus, a police dog, an actual robot, and clips from Voltes V, creating a chaotic... err… artwork. Of sorts.

We are not sure what emotion or effect it was aiming to evoke, but the video gave us a kind of psychological arousal: Fear, not happiness, makes art more sublime.
