One thing celebrities seem to love as much as their multi-million mansions are their homes away from home. On their time off, many celebrities get away from city life and retreat to their provinces of choice. We're not talking about your regular ol' boring vacation homes, though. We're talking about hectares of farmland that have somehow become a celebrity essential as of late. From backyard mini-farms to more traditional agriculture plots, here are 15 Filipino celebrities who are secretly farmers. (Not in the literal sense, of course, but you get what we mean.)

Bea Alonzo

Bea Alonzo calls her Zambales farm one of her best investments. She bought the 16-hectare land in 2011, and it's become a haven for her family. In a YouTube vlog, the actress shared a look inside her farm, which has mahogany trees, mango trees, solar-powered light posts, and a cattle pen.

At Angel Locsin's farm in Bulacan, she plants trees as a passion project. In a YouTube vlog, she called this initiative Project Green. She added, "Without trees, life could not exist on earth. There would be no rain, our soils would be unprotected, and the air would be unsuitable for breathing. If you're looking for a powerful and affordable way to make a positive difference to the environment, go out and plant a tree today."

Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres

Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres keep a home in Ormoc, Leyte that houses a backyard mini-farm. Torres has shared that the home has turned into a full-fledged farm with "animals roaming freely [and] fruits and vegetables growing happily."

Before he deactivated his Instagram, Coco Martin shared a bunch of posts about his mini-farm. You might say we're cheating here since the actor farms from his Quezon City home but, considering that his lot totals to 2,000 square meters, it's definitely not your regular backyard. Martin has mango trees, papaya, ampalaya, talong, petchay, and sili, among others.

Marjorie Barretto

Not content with just a rest house, actress-turned-politician Marjorie Barretto planted produce in her Bulacan home. The backyard has alugbati, kamoteng kahoy, okra, malunggay, talbos ng kamote, calamansi, as well as guyabano, rambutan, kamias, and mango trees.
