Kaprice Imperial, a Filipino-American model, is the face of Kitana in Mortal Kombat 11, the newest fighting game in the Mortal Kombat series. The fashion model is currently based in Chicago, Illinois, but her hometown is in Miami, Florida.

NetherRealm Studios, Mortal Kombat 11’s game developer, sent casting notes to various agencies in the U.S., specifying what kinds of faces it needed to produce the game's characters. Out of thousands of candidates, the studio selected Imperial to be the face of Kitana.

NetherRealm Studios booked Imperial to make 3D renditions of her face. Using the captured 3D images, the studio was able to manipulate facial expressions and add other details to create Kitana.

As a model, some of Imperial’s most distinguishing features are her full, well-defined lips, sharp cheekbones, and chiseled jawline, giving her a look that is at once beautiful and powerful, qualities that Kitana also possesses.

Kitana is one of the major characters in Mortal Kombat. She was introduced in the series in the second installment of the game in 1993, and has been in every installment of the game since. Kitana is over 10,000 years old but appears as a young woman. For weapons, she specializes in the use of steel fans, but is also highly proficient in using her glaives, staff, flying blades, and sais.

Scorpion, one of the main characters in the game, appears on the cover of the video game as well as nearly all of the promotional posters for Mortal Kombat 11.

This year, Mortal Kombat was inducted into the World Video Game Hall of Fame, joining the ranks of Final Fantasy VII, The Legend of Zelda, Pac-Man, Super Mario Bros., and World of Warcraft as some of the greatest video games ever created.
