Filipino macho dancing takes center stage in new Peaches music video

Dancer Eisa Jocson shakes gender norms by acing the performance.

The provocative Canadian electro-dance artist Peaches released the latest music video for her song How You Like My Cut, as part of a series of films to accompany the launch of her album Rub—and don’t be surprised if the choreography looks all too familiar. Filipino dancer Eisa Jocson reinterprets the exotic dance number performed by men in nightclubs, or “macho dancing,” and the result is sexually charged, delicate and curious. This is also the first time Peaches doesn’t make an appearance in her own music video.

In Eisa’s rendition, she steals the show from the men, and produces a beautiful twist on the novel form of entertainment. Needless to say, this deserves a round of applause. Watch, please:
