You Can Now Watch The First Season of These Shows on HBO Go for Free
The community lockdown has lead to the very specific problem of filling the void. For most, that means staying in bed (un-showered and with snacks) and streaming videos on an iPhone, laptop, or, if you're bougie, a very big HD Smart TV.
As for the content, the lockdown has given birth to various things to consume such as webinars, live streams, virtual tours, and, of course, movies and series. For your consideration, there is also HBO Go. The streaming arm of the American entertainment giant offers a tasty carrot to couch surfers in the form of free content.
For a month, starting April 15, the first season of 15 original shows can now be viewed without registration or subscription. Two things: You already missed out on one day of bingeing an entire season until your brain taps out. Also, we tried it, and it is as HBO Go promised: Just click this link and navigate to what speaks to you.
Already, we’re drawn to critically acclaimed hits like Succession, Veep, and The Sopranos. But what may be more interesting is the collection of Asian shows such as Folklore, a horror series based on tales from Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, and more, and Miss Sherlock, which reinterprets the detective series as a female-led story set in modern Tokyo.
From dramas to comedies, Asian series to documentaries, there’s something here for everyone. Check out the list:
HBO Go Dramas
HBO Go Comedies
HBO Go Asian Series
The Teenage Psychic
The World Between Us
HBO Go Documentaries
Jane Fonda In Five Acts
The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley
Of course, this carrot is but a nibble of the hours of entertainment for the lockdown. If you must know what happens to the Roy family after that thing in episode 10 of Succession, you’ll have to subscribe to the full service by downloading the HBO Go app.
