In 2011, Idris Elba starred in what would become one of the biggest film franchises of all time. He appeared as Heimdall, the all-seeing gatekeeper of Asgard, in Thor. Following Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and the now forgotten Incredible Hulk, Thor marked an early entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a interconnected billion dollar franchise that now includes 20 movies and worldwide success only seven years later.

That franchise is pretty widely referred to as the MCU—short for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But, even though he's appeared five MCU films this decade, Elba was somehow unsure what the MCU meant. In a video with Yahoo, the host asks Elba if he has more time for directing now that he's out of the MCU:

“What’s MCU?” he asks.

Then the host carefully explains that it stands for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, that one huge franchise he's in.

“Oh right, I have never heard that before. I thought it was Manchester United," Elba responds.

Honestly, that's cool as hell.
