Former Senator Ramon Revilla Sr. Has Died

Just a few weeks ago, in May, former senator Ramon Revilla Sr. was rushed to the hospital because of breathing problems. Though he was eventually stabilized, the family today, June 26 announced the "Hari ng Agimat" has passed away. He was 93 years old.
Born José Acuña Bautista Sr. in 1927, Revilla started out as an actor. Bit roles, however, turned him off from the business and he became a senior intelligence officer for the Bureau of Customs in 1965. He eventually catapulted to fame playing the title role in Nardong Putik: Kilabot ng Cavite.
Some of his career highlights include winning the FAMAS Best Actor in 1973 ("Hulihin Si Tiyagong Akyat"), Box Office King (1979), Most Outstanding Actor of the Year (1979). His foray into production also brought him the Outstanding Producer of the Year (1976) and Outstanding Film Production and Socio-civic Leader (1975).
He held a seat in the Senate from 1992 to 2004 and authored laws public works, drugs, and firearms.
In an emotional post, son Bong Revilla announced his father's death and asked for prayers.
The younger Revilla also posted a Father's Day message last Sunday:
According to reports, Ramon Sr. had fathered at least 72 children from 16 different women. Apart from Bong, he is also the father of slain Ramgen, Ramona, Princess, Andrea, and Strike.
