The makers of Saving Sally, a 2016 Filipino film that mixed live action and 2D animation, are set to release another animated feature film this year.

Rocketsheep Studio has posted a 44-second sneak peek of its new project titled Hayop Ka! (English title: You Son Of A Bitch!) on its official Facebook account.

Hayop Ka! is an animated comedy with animals as its cast from Saving Sally director Avid Liongoren. Popular local talents including Angelica Panganiban, Robin Padilla, Sam Milby, Empoy Marquez, and Arci Muñoz will be the voices behind the main characters.

“[The] story is very silly, nothing deep, just something highly inspired by people who call the radio late at night to narrate their love problems,” Rocketsheep Studio wrote as a response to one of the comments on the video.

The production for the film started in 2017 and is expected to be completed by the middle of 2019, but the release date is yet to be announced.

“We are very excited about it and are working very hard like ants. We are still a few months away from being able to string a proper trailer as the film is being made like a cake with all its ingredients laid out on the kitchen table being prepped individually. Baking comes in much later, there is no cake slice to taste for the meantime,” the production company wrote in the description section of the video.

Hayop Ka! is also produced by Spring Films, an independent film studio founded and managed by actor Piolo Pascual. It is the production firm behind Kita Kita, Meet Me in St. Gallen, and the three installments of Kimmy Dora.
