We're still amazed by how the third season of Netflix's Narcos remained so great even after they ended the Pablo Escobar storyline. The prior seasons managed to squeeze in a few foreshadowing details that culminated gracefully in the third, which itself gave us a lot of loose ends and cliffhangers to look forward to.

If you'll recall, Season 3 left off with the retirement of Agent Javier Peña (played by Pedro Pascal) to his father's home near the border of Texas and Mexico, all but explicitly stating that the next season will feature El Chapo and the Mexican cartels. That much was confirmed to the public at large when news broke that Narcos location scout had been shot dead while in Mexico for Season 4.

This was also confirmed earlier this week, with the release of the first teaser for Narcos' fourth season. It shows a Mexican Mariachi band playing a more upbeat version of the show's theme, covered in white powder:

But the most important detail might still be the confirmation of its main cast: Michael Peña (Ant-Man, Chips) and Diego Luna (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Y Tu Mama Tambien). Perfect choices, if you'd ask us. And although their roles have yet to be confirmed, it's not difficult to imagine Peña and Luna as DEA agents. If the showrunners are able to leverage their talents, they could be the best buddy cops on the since Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey joined forces for True Detective.
