Volume 1 of Trese Sells Out in the U.S., Now On Its Second Printing

Looks like Alexandra Trese has picked up quite a number of new fans just ahead of her big Netflix debut.
Ablaze Publishing announced last week that Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo's Trese Volume 1: Murder on Balete Drive TP has sold out and has gone back to press for a second printing. Bleedingcool reported the news on Thursday, one day ahead of the Netflix anime series based on the graphic novel series.
Ablaze Publishing is an American publishing company that picked up the series in June 2020 for release in the U.S. and Canada. Trese was first published here in the Philippines in 2005 and has since gone on to become one of the most successful graphic novel series in the country. It is also a three-time winner of the Philippine National Book Award for Best Graphic Literature of the Year.
“With anticipation building for the Trese Anime Netflix series, readers are jumping on board the graphic novel series, and we'll be working to make sure copies are available to all those who want to read the amazing source material,” Bleedingcool quoted Ablaze co-founder and VP for creative/business development Rich Young.
Trese Volume 1: Murder on Balete Drive features new artwork by Baldisimo as well as a bonus section with behind-the-scenes content.
Trese, the six-episode animated series, is streaming now on Netflix.
