While the much-awaited Ang Huling El Bimbo Eraserheads musical opened to the public on July 20, the gala waited a week; it was held last night, July 26, at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. (In case you missed it, we got confirmation that production for a secretive "Eraserheads musical" had started early this year. Not too long ago, Resorts World Manila's Full House Theater Company announced that theater stars like Gian Magdangal, Tanya Manalang, Jon Santos, OJ Mariano, Topper Fabregas, Reb Atadero, and Boo Gabunda would indeed be performing in the musical based on the Eraserheads' discography.)

Every Pinoy who came of age in the 90s was understandably excited about the musical. So you can imagine the joyous uproar when a very special surprise guest joined the curtain call with the musical's cast and crew at the end of the gala-night performance:
