These Are The Books We're Most Likely To Have Lied About Reading

The joke goes that we lie about having read the big books we know we're supposed to—War And Peace, Ulysses, etc.
Well, according to research, that's not exactly right. In fact, there are specific books we're most likely to have lied about reading and they're the ones with film adaptations.
The research, commissioned by The Reading Agency to mark World Book Night 2017, put the James Bond books by Ian Fleming at the top of the list of titles people have lied about reading when they've in fact only seen the film version.
Next follows the Lord of the Rings series by JRR Tolkein and The Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis.
Below is the full list of books we're most likely to claim we've read, when we've actually only seen the film...
1. James Bond books, Ian Fleming
2. Lord of the Rings, JRR Tolkien
3. The Chronicles of Narnia, CS Lewis
4. The Da Vinci Code, Dan Brown
5. The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins
6. Trainspotting, Irvine Welsh
7. The Wizard of Oz, L Frank Baum
8. Bridget Jones's Diary, Helen Fielding
9. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Stieg Larsson
10. The Godfather, Mario Puzo
11. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Ken Kesey

The message here? Let's all indulge in a good book—whether we've seen the film, or whether it's even been adapted in the first place, or not!
