Including The Little Prince and The Secret Garden.

A childhood without books isn’t much of a childhood at all. There's a different magic to being young and getting lost in adventure and imagination, dreaming of heroes and being our own heroes. This was the life of Hayao Miyazaki, which he shared during the Academy Awards' "Marc Davis Celebration of Animation: Hayao Miyazaki."

Miyazaki is world renowned for creating and animating beloved flicks such as Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, and The Wind Rises. Proving that there’s no such thing as being too “old” for children’s stories, Miyazaki shares his top 50 favorite children’s books for Open Culture. This is his top 10.
