Get your works ready, Filipino manga artists!

The Embassy of Japan in the Philippines has called on local manga artists on its official Facebook page to participate in the Japanese International Manga Awards.

Now on its 16th year, this awards honor manga artists who contribute to the development of manga culture in the world.

The International Manga Award has become the quintessential competition for manga artists around the world. It is gaining more and more traction each year. The 15th Manga Awards, for instance, saw a record 484 works submitted from 76 countries and regions, and was chaired by celebrated manga artist Ms. Satonaka Machiko.

Participants either take home Gold or Silver honors. Contest guidelines can be found here.
