Manix Abrera to Release Comics Teaching Copyright Laws

Just in time for the World Book and Copyright Day on Saturday, April 23, the National Book Development Board (NBDB) will be releasing a comic strip/infographic by artist Manix Abrera.
Abrera is best known for the comic strip Kiko Machine in the Philippine Daily Inquirer. Based on the photos he shared on his Facebook page, the "Copyright Watch" infographic is actually a folded flier. The language used is Filipino. There are no details yet on whether it will be available for download. Those who want to get hold of "Copyright Watch" can go to the Quezon City Memorial Circle (near the Peace Monument), where the NBDB will set up from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 23.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) leads the celebration of World Book and Copyright Day. The date also marks the death anniversary of two major authors: William Shakespeare and Miguel de Cervantes.
UNESCO explains, "By celebrating this day, we seek to promote reading, publishing and the protection of copyright."
