Here's Your Chance to Own a Print From Your Favorite Filipino Photographers

The coronavirus pandemic has brought the Philippines' many industries to a standstill. This includes photographers who have had to cancel projects and exhibits since the virus' outbreak. Shelter Fund, a new online platform, hopes to support the country's top photographers by selling images.
Jason Quibilan, the organizer and founder of Shelter Fund, came up with the 'photographers in aid of one another through photography' initiative along with the team at Shutterspace Studios and its printing arm Silver, including Lancer Salva, Ienne Janes, Abby Madriaga, Pucci Valenzuela, Jeeb Baldonado, and Arvin Somera.
"Through your purchase of our prints, you help keep us safe in our homes, able to continue and contribute, and more importantly, all of us have committed to contributing part of our individual sales to a communal fund, making sure everyone is benefitted by your purchase," the Shelter Fund says.
The sale started on May 1 and will continue until the end of the enhanced community quarantine on May 15. Currently, the artworks posted on Shelter Fund's Facebook and Instagram pages are mostly open editions but there are also a few limited editions in the mix.
The participating photographers include Nana Buxani, Tom Epperson, Mannix Tolentino Santos, Paco Guerrero, Veejay Villafranca, Jes Aznar, Raena Abella, Edric Chen, Jake Versoza, Patrick Martires, Shaira Luna, Wig Tysmans, Raymund Isaac, BJ Pascual, Jojo Mamangun, Xander Angeles, Artu Nepomuceno, Joseph Pascual, Ian Santos, Sonny Thakur, MJ Suayan, Idan Cruz, MM Yu, and Geric Cruz, to name a few.
About 70 percent of the proceeds will go to the artist, while 10 to 20 percent will go to the fund, and the rest will go to printing costs. Quibilan says the fund will eventually be divvied up equally among all contributors and participants. Have a look at some of the photos below, and for the full set check out Shelter Fund's Instagram.
