Works by Borlongan, Soler, Others, Help Raise Funds for Fellow Artists
Shelter Fund, the online platform originally dedicated to supporting some of the country's top photographers, has just expanded to cover more artists. From paintings to illustrations, you can now shop for different prints through the art section of the initiative.

Organizer and founder Jason Quibilan says the inclusion of other creatives was a natural progression.
"Shelter Fund Art mostly came from the awareness that a lot of artists and illustrators I know are freelancers as well, not unlike photographers, and have had a hard past few months. And a lot of us photographers work with them and know them well, either through advertising or magazine work, as our art directors. So, it’s really just natural to collaborate on this with our fellow creatives," he says.
One thing the group is doing differently is the introduction of more limited-edition prints. "We’re seeing the demand for more work by artists in more limited editions. We’re currently in conversations with a few artists and photographers who are willing to pursue this through collaborations with Shelter Fund," Quibilan says.
But, the platform's ideals remain the same with Shelter Fund Art: to keep creatives safe in their homes while continuing to contribute, as well as protecting, providing, and uniting the industry.
Participating artists include Elmer Borlongan, Soler Santos, Romeo Lee, MM Yu, Feanne, Dan Matutina, Mags Ocampo, Kara Chung, Ian Magbanua, Robert Alejandro, Aldy Aguirre, Rommel Joson, Felix Mago Miguel, Zeus Bascon, Nina Martinez, Asa Montenejo, Camz Dagal, Harry Monzon, Angela Taguiang, Aaron Asis, Domz Agsaway, and more.
"Shelter Fund has allowed artists to connect with an entirely new audience, one that is curious and more open to new work and new ideas, and very supportive of local talent. We hope to be able to continue to serve both as a legitimate platform for art incubation and distribution," Quibilan says.
