6 of Xyza Cruz Bacani's Gripping Photographs

"My mother still yells at me when I'm being stupid and stubborn. I do not think about it because it's bad for the ego. Ego kills creativity," says photographer Xyza Cruz Bacani.
Since getting her work noticed by the New York Times' Lens Blog, Bacani has earned a Magnum Fellowship, has had her work exhibited around the world, and has won a number of awards. Congress even passed a resolution, extending "WARMEST FELICITATIONS AND CONGRATULATIONS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO MS. XYZA CRUZ BACANI FOR ACCOMPLISHING GREAT FEATS IN PHOTOGRAPHY”.
