British heritage auto marque Morris Garages, best known as MG, recently launched in the Philippines, this time officially under the distributorship of the Covenant Car Company, which also brings in Chevrolet.

MG's history dates back to 1924, when it released its first automobiles in Oxford, England. At the time, MG was known for its two-seat open sports cars, but the brand has since evolved. Since then, the company has changed hands several times, even merging with Austin at one point in 1952. Today, MG is backed by SAIC Motor, China's largest auto manufacturer and exporter, and expanding all over the globe out of its design studio in Central London.

With its arrival in the Philippines under Covenant, MG brings three new models for the fourth quarter of 2018: the ZS, the RX5, and the MG 6. They're expecting to launch six models by the end of 2019. The ZS is MG's entry into the crossover category, while the RX5 makes a bid for the British marque as a compact SUV. The MG6, on the other hand, is MG's fastback sedan. Check them out:

ZS

The MG ZS is a heavyweight in its class, featuring top-spec features and styling that will have necks craning for a better look. A few uniquely British design details stand out: “London Eye” headlights, a “Stardust” grille, and “Plough” taillights make the ZS a real looker.

RX5

The new MG RX5 is powered by an efficient 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 162 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, which is mated to a 7-speed double clutch automatic transmission to ensure smooth and seamless power delivery. The SUV is also fitted with an enhanced Macpherson and rear multi-link suspension system that smoothens out even the roughest of roads.

MG 6

The MG 6 is a sporty fastback with elegant interiors and creature comforts. Its flat-bottomed steering wheel is a nod to the brand's rich racing heritage, while two-toned red and black seats, dash, and door panels give the MG 6 an attractive cabin.
