The Philippines Is One of the Countries That Spends the Most on Home Decor, According to Study

Did you really live through the pandemic if you didn't at least attempt to redecorate your space? Because everyone is decorating. Case in point: a new study shows that the Philippines is one of the many countries that are sprucing up their spaces.
While Filipinos may not be as big a spender as the Swiss are (who spend $1,158.71 per capita on interior design), we're still in the 50s range out of 150 countries. Hong Kong, Norway, Iceland, Sweden, Denmark, Australia, Japan, Israel, and Canada made up the rest of the top 10 in the list.
The study, published in Householdquotes, sought to figure out last year's interior design craze. "Interior design was all the rage last year as the pandemic wore on and people were study inside. But which countries spend the most on interior design annually, and which rooms are getting the most attention," researchers asked.
Over in Asia, Hong Kong was the biggest spender. When compared to income, however, India came out on top at $155.23. "Aesthetics will become more pragmatic with a keen and heightened sense of luxury," predicted top Indian designer Shobhan Kothari. "Improvements in design in the interiors, as well as architecture to promote well-being, will be encouraged."
