If you go to Starbucks regularly for your caffeine fix—and we know some people who go every day, not saying it's us—then you should definitely take note of these tips that could help you get the most out of every order.

1| There's a not-so-secret secret size for hot drinks.

You won't probably see it on the menu because it's not heavily advertised, but if you ever need a mini caffeine jolt, you can just get your hot coffee in their short cup—the smallest and the cheapest size. All you need to do is ask for it.

2| You can get extra pumps of flavor for free.

Starbucks drinks are standardized around the world, but if you want your coffee to be packed with more flavor than usual, you can ask the barista for extra pumps of flavor (syrup) or extra espresso shots. There is a maximum amount of extra flavor, sweetener, or espresso shots that they can give so make sure to ask your barista. You may also ask your baristas to lessen any sweetener.

3| Get extra privileges with a Starbucks card.

If you're at a point where Starbucks baristas can name you (plus points if they get the correct spelling) and know your order by heart, it's worth it to get yourself a Starbucks card. The card comes free with a minimum of P300 for initial load, plus a free complimentary grande-sized drink once you've registered it online. You also get a free grande-sized drink of your choice after every 12 beverages.

4| If it's your birthday, you get free extra treats.

What's a better way to celebrate your birthday than with a slice of birthday cake? You can get one complimentary slice of cake upon purchase if you order any handcrafted Starbucks beverage of any size. If you can't make it on your exact birth date, you can redeem your birthday treat within 60 days after your birthday.

5| Get an 'app-grade' when using the Starbucks app.

The Starbucks app, which you can also use to pay for your orders, now also lets you collect your planner stickers using your mobile phone. If you're the type of person who frequently forgets or loses their Starbucks sticker card (gasp!), you are better off registering a Starbucks card and downloading the app. You can virtually track your stickers with your phone. Plus, it's eco-friendly.

6| BYOB: (please) bring your own bottle to get a discount.

It pays to be eco-friendly when at Starbucks: when you bring your own cup, you can save P5 off your drink. If you do the math, your savings from of 32 Starbucks beverages (which is easy to accumulate in the span of two to three months) purchased with this BYOB discount, is enough for another beverage. It also saves the planet from a pile of plastic cups that will outlive most of us.
