Grab has come a long way since its days as a simple taxi-hailing smartphone app. Over the past few years, the company has expanded to cover a handful of other operations, including courier services, hotel bookings, and yes, food delivery.

The last one is what we’re here to discuss. Chances are you’ve heard of GrabFood, the firm’s food-delivery service. If you’re a user, you’ll be happy to know that GrabFood is going 24/7 in select areas of Metro Manila and Cebu, including Makati, Quezon City, Pasig, Pasay, Parañaque, and more.

According to Grab, the move comes in a bid to cater to customers who are making orders in the wee hours of the morning. The company’s data shows that there’s been a 13-fold increase in late-night and early-morning orders since March 2019—a demand Grab is hoping to address with the help of 1,000 restaurant partners operating 24 hours a day in Manila and Cebu.

“With the rapidly growing hectic lifestyle, Filipinos now demand more convenient ways of addressing their daily needs,” GrabFood head EJ dela Vega said in a statement. “Today, students stuck working on a project at school, professionals slugging it through a working lunch, even parents tending to their children can now satisfy their hunger 24/7 via GrabFood.”

“As the leading super app with a strong food delivery arm, Grab is in a unique position to empower Filipinos to make the most of their everyday lives. This starts with the most basic yet important task of satisfying their daily cravings and beating hunger at any time,” Grab president Brian Cu said.

If you’re not too fond of driving out in the middle of the night for a quick bite, you know what app to open.
