The Mythical Johnnie Walker Blue Label Just Became More Approachable this Holiday Season
Johnnie Walker is, undoubtedly, one of the world’s most recognizable spirits. In the Philippines, especially, the brand is one of the most popular whiskies, and is a staple of celebrations and intimate gatherings for sophisticated men and women.
While the bestsellers are Johnnie Walker Red and Blue Label, the premium Blue Label is reserved for a more discerning clientele. In addition to the price point, which, of course, is a bit higher compared to the brand’s other variants, Johnnie Walker Blue Label is, itself, a blend of some extremely rare and sought-after whiskies and is made in extremely limited quantities.
In fact, of 10,000 bottles produced by the brand, only one is a Blue Label.
This fact is one of the pieces of knowledge whisky aficionados will learn at the new Johnnie Walker luxury pop-up boutique located along Bonifacio High Street, in the area between Shangri-La at The Fort Hotel and One Bonifacio High Street mall. Built just in time for the arrival of the holiday rush, the boutique was cooked up by the folks at Diageo, makers of Johnnie Walker, to present its lineup of its most premium whiskies not just to fans of the spirit, but to shoppers and curious passersby.
Inside the boutique is a selection of Diageo’s luxury whisky brands, including The Singleton, Mortlach, Cardhu, and Talisker, and of course, Johnnie Walker Blue Label. The first three whiskies are, incidentally, all ingredients in the making of the Blue Label.
Customers and guests interested in purchasing any of the whisky brands will also have the option to have their bottle engraved—and get a luggage tag—with their initials.
In addition, guests can also pre-book a tasting session with a Johnnie Walker ambassador, who can guide them through a journey of whisky brands and expressions. Throughout the session, guests can learn about the different luxury whiskies, their history and provenance, and sample the whiskies for themselves.
The Johnnie Walker Luxury Boutique will start welcoming guests on Friday, November 25 and will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. until January. For more information, visit Johnnie Walker Philippines.
