Spicy ChickenJoy, La! Jollibee Releases Nasi Lemak Version in Singapore
Jollibee said it released in Singapore a Nasi Lemak variant of its popular Chickenjoy, proving that it is among the world's purveyors of Filipino flavors.
Nasi Lemak Chickenjoy is classic Jollibee fried chicken served with coconut rice and with a hard boiled egg, sambal (spicy sauce) and ikan bilis (dried fish, think dilis) on the side. It sells for SG$5 (P178).
It's rare for Jollibee to change up the flavors of Chickenjoy, its signature dish. It recently opened a new store in Liverpool, England, touting Chickenjoy as among Asia's best fried chickens.
Jollibee in Singapore caters to a large Filipino community of expatriate workers who want a taste of home. Elsewhere, it is trying to win new markets for the Jollibee brand and buying chains such as The Coffe Bean and Tea Leaf to be among the top 5 fast food operators in the world.
