After a tumultuous past few days, Ateneo de Manila University President Fr. Jose Ramon T. Villarin has released a statement on the decision of the bullying incident that has captured the attention of Filipinos on social media.

According to the official document released earlier today on the Ateneo de Manila University Facebook page, the school has decided to dismiss the student in question "after a thorough investigation."

Dismissal, the statement goes on to clarify, "means that he is no longer allowed to come back to the Ateneo."

Fr. Villarin's statement ends by reminding everyone that the issue has affected many people, but that "Our young ones cannot escape all this unscathed. They are the ones most wounded by our violent words and example."
