We might need to get our weekend plans in order now. Bonifacio Global City is set to host the inaugural BGC Coffee Festival from September 10 to 11 at Bonifacio High Street South in Taguig. There's going to be pop-up coffee brands, art, cycling, and good music. The vibes are going to be pristine, folks.

“Coffee is a universal love language, and BGC is home to numerous unique and well-loved cafes; public art is part of the brand DNA of BGC with our many fun and vibrant murals and art pieces; and biking is a BGCitizen passion point that flourished during the pandemic," said BGC Marketing and Community Relations Head Sean Luarca. "We are therefore pleased to open wide the doors of Bonifacio High Street South to coffee aficionados, art lovers, and bikers alike.”

Among the brands that are going to be present at the festival are Because Coffee, Nespresso, Luntian by Luna, Knotty, 24 Bakeshop, El Union, La Marzocco-Yardstick Coffee, and more. Visitors are also encouraged to get in on the action, as each shop will be hosting product sampling, brewing, and latte art demonstrations. Last year’s Philippine Brewers Cup Champion will be providing guests with a brewing demo, as well.

Hot vinyl is going to be spinning all weekend long, too. DJ Honey and Diego Mapa, as well as the likes of August Wahh, bird., Ena Mori, and Party Pace will provide entertainment on Friday. On Saturday, we should expect to see talks on topics like Philippine coffee production, café culture, coffee science, art, and cycling.

There is also going to be what organizers call a "Latte Art Throwdown." It sounds like serious business. Latte art, after all, is a thing. Here, we get to witness baristas go head to head in a latte art extravaganza.

The country’s qualifying event for the World AeroPress Championship, the Philippine AeroPress Championship Competition, will be held at the event, too. The winner advances and will compete in  Canada later this year.
