BigBoy Cheng’s house inside a San Juan City subdivision might as well be a pop culture museum. As befits the DJ and art impresario’s wide range of interests, high art and lowbrow collectibles exist side by side with streetwear and sneakers, overflowing across the shelves and display cases. And, yes, there’s even an actual bank vault in his home for the extra valuable items.

If you follow his fabulously vulgar YouTube vlog—where he goes by the nickname “Sanchupapa”—you may already be aware of his impressive collection. But if you want to take an up-close look at the favorite pieces across the world of sneakers, art, and fashion, you’ll want to check out Hypefather: The BigBoy Cheng Collections (P1,699, Lazada). In this 276-page hardcover volume, Cheng provides in-depth, honest, sometimes profanity-laced, but always loving commentary on his collections.

Who Is Bigboy Cheng and Why Is He Suddenly Doing Food Vlogs?

“Motivation ko is to show yung culture namin,” Cheng said at the book’s launch at his own Secret Fresh Art Gallery in Ronac Center, San Juan earlier this week. “Ipinapakita ko sa tao kung paano mag-collect, kung paano pahalagahan yung value ng mga shoes, toys, and art. Para makita nila na masarap mag-collect.”

Of course, you can’t talk about BigBoy Cheng without talking about his sneakers. In honor of the book launch, we present an exclusive sneak peek of some of the rarest kicks you can find inside the vaults of Sanchupapa himself, as seen inside the Hypefather.

In true one-of-one fashion, a birthday bespoke Air Max is a different breed of sneaker moment that not a lot of people can and will experience. The only way to get to design a birthday bespoke pair is if you’re personally handpicked by Nike.

At the end of Louis Vuitton’s 2019 fashion show in Paris, the late Virgil Abloh came out wearing something on his feet that had never been seen before. Everyone had to zoom in and the details were clear: a black Bapesta in crocodile skin with white Bapesta logos and a Bape callout in Off-White’s Helvetica. It was a bold runway move by Abloh.

5| Travis Scott x Air Jordan 4 (Friends and Family Edition)

The Travis Scott Air Jordan 4s were always seen on the rapper’s feet, whether he was making NBA courtside appearances or rocking onstage. Two colorways of his friends-and-family exclusive (rare colorways released in very limited quantities to very important people) dropped and both didn’t miss. When it comes to the remix of sneaker classics, Travis Scott is always on the beat.
