Brandon Stanton of Humans of New York is Coming to Manila

And he might need your help.

Since 2010, the Humans of New York photoblog has become known for featuring portraits of ordinary New Yorkers, accompanied by first-person snippets of stories that range from amusing anecdotes to moving life events. Brandon Stanton, the photographer behind the blog, has a gift for getting strangers to open up about their lives. Over the years, he’s turned the content of his blog into two bestselling books, and launched a web series

He’s also ventured outside of New York and the United States, featuring people from over twenty countries including Iraq, Kenya, Ukraine, Vietnam, India, and Mexico. Yesterday, he announced that he is planning a trip to the Philippines and will be stopping by Manila for a few days.

Stanton is looking for an interpreter to assist him with interviews, and is offering “a fair rate plus expenses.” His only requirements are English proficiency, lots of energy, and an outgoing and friendly personality:

The response to his call-out was understandably enthusiastic—as of this writing, his post has gotten 24,000 likes, 2,877 shares, and 3,600 shares. With the amount of applications he’ll be getting, Stanton has his work cut out for him.
