After the year that was 2020, it's safe to say that we all welcomed 2021 hopeful, with positive attitudes and outlooks. But, now that we've reached March, the year already isn't looking too good. Sure, the country is opening up and the vaccine has just arrived. Experts warn, however, that with the current trend of positive COVID-19 cases, the Philippines could easily have 6,000 daily cases by the end of the month.

Not only that, there's been much talk about an impending zombie apocalypse. You can thank French astrologer and seer Nostradamus for that as he once predicted that zombies would take over in 2021. Look, we're probably not going to have zombies this year but it doesn't hurt to be prepared.

You already know where the safest place is to survive a zombie apocalypse. Now, you can take a look at the CDC's recently released official zombie guide. As the public health institute says, "better safe than sorry." Check out what you need to survive as far as supplies go below.

  • Water (one gallon per person per day)
  • Food (stock up on non-perishable items that you eat regularly)
  • Medications (prescription and non-prescription meds)
  • Tools and Supplies (utility knife, duct tape, battery-powered radio, etc.)
  • Sanitation and Hygiene (household bleach, soap, towels, etc.)
  • Clothing and Bedding (for each person in your zombie squad)
  • Important documents (driver’s license, passport, and birth certificate, to name a few)
  • First Aid supplies (self-explanatory)

Aside from supplies, the guide also details things to know for an emergency plan like where to go, who to call, and other useful things. Plus, the CDC assures people they have a solid plan in case an outbreak occurs. That's swell and all, but the CDC only covers the people of the U.S.

What about us? The closest thing we've found on the Department of Health's website to a zombie mention is in a 2011 issue of HealthBeat where the editors say the DOH is prepared for any kind of emergencies... including a zombie apocalypse.
