Apparently, Men Who Drink Coffee Daily Are Less Likely to Lose Hearing

According to a new study.

Drinking coffee has a lot of benefits. Like a lot, a lot, a lot. At this point, we might as well inject it into our veins. (We're kidding, of course—but if you drink coffee regularly caffeine is probably already in your veins.)

The point is, we already know how good coffee is for us. But, a recent study takes it to another level: apparently, men who drink coffee regularly are less likely to suffer from hearing loss. We know, we know, how the hell is coffee connected to hearing?

Researchers from the Autonomous University of Madrid say it's all because of coffee's antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. See, it's not so farfetched as we initially thought. Men who drink at least one cup a day were 15 percent less likely to lose hearing.

Data from 36,923 participants were used to come up with the results of the study. What researchers found was that while there was no link between coffee and hearing for women, the effect of coffee's hearing benefits were clearly evident in men. And yes, that's whether a cup was caffeinated or decaffeinated.

"Coffee consumption might have a beneficial effect on hearing function because of the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of some of its compounds," said the researchers.

Before you start loading your day with multiple cups of coffee, just know that experts advice you don't go beyond four cups a day. Everything in moderation as always.
