We've explored the property and leisure portfolios of Manila's wealthiest, delving into the prices of exclusive villages in the city, as well as annual fees of club memberships.

This time, we look into the prices of private vacation homes. Below, a list of premier real estate destinations where the affluent spend their weekends.

Tali Beach

A source from Re/Max Philippines notes Tali Beach as a favorite among Manila’s elite because it was the pioneering development among the die-hard beach lovers. It also possesses that classic beach vibe.

Perks: Apart from access to a pristine beach, you’ll probably be next-door neighbors with family friends since old families purchased lots in this location way back.

Price: P7,000 to P15,000 per sqm.

Tagaytay Highlands

Perhaps the most popular weekend spot for shot trips away is Tagaytay. Known for their exclusivity and panoramic views, Tagaytay Highlands, Midlands, and Greenlands perfectly frame the Taal Lake scenery.

Perks: Apart from escaping the smog and traffic of Manila, residents of Tagaytay Highlands have the privilege of using the world-class golf courses, Tagaytay Highlands club amenities, and the two golf clubs, Tagaytay Highlands International Golf Club and Tagaytay Midlands Golf Club. Apart from standard club amenities, Tagaytay Highlands also offers the experience of nature treks and trails for those inclined to the outdoors. A broker from Re/Max notes that her clients prefer the Woodlands Log Cabins in The Highlands.

Price: P10,000 to P14,000 per square meter; houses range from P30 million to P85 million

Anvaya Cove

Just two hours away from Manila, Ayala Land Premier’s Anvaya Cove has become a go-to tropical retreat throughout the year. The vast residential area of the community is divided into several neighborhoods and perhaps the most premium is the Fairway Crest neighborhood. Milena Gamboa of Ayala Land Premier says it’s the biggest in terms of cut sizes, with lots up to 1,300 square meters, and it’s also the least dense.

Perks: Residents of the gated community on the hillside of Morong, Bataan, have access to the Anvaya Cove clubhouse, golf course, sports facilities, as well as its own beach front. Those in the Fairway Crest neighborhood, however, get a prime view of the golf course and a 180-degree view of the sea.

Punta Fuego

A couple of hours south of Manila, the Punta Fuego resort situated on the Peninsula de Punta Fuego is 88 hectares of land just by the beach. While an exclusive club membership is available, many have opted to purchase their weekend homes here, according to Re/Max master franchise owner Eddie Santos.

Perks: The community consists of access to a seafront, various pools and beaches, a yacht club with its own port, and its own nine-hole golf course.

Price: P12,000 to P18,000 per square meter; and houses range from P22 million to P75 million

Popular among golfers who’d like to squeeze in a game before heading back to the business district, Sta. Elena consists of a golf course, as well as two luxurious residential communities, Banahaw Circle and Sierra Madre, so far. While living spaces Gliceria Place, Makiling Reserve, and Marina Grove have larger lot cuts, these future communities have yet to welcome homeowners. Perks: Calatagan has best of both greens and blues, being within the proximity of white sand beaches and farmlands. What makes this location ideal is it’s the perfect place to establish a hacienda, as land is not necessarily expensive.

Dusit Waves (2019)

The emergence of La Union as a prominent summer destination has hotels and residential developments flocking to the beaches of San Juan.
