Ah, Mother's Day. A day to celebrate your mom's special day with the best of gifts.

In the past, that meant a harmless trip to your local bakery or having an elegant bouquet made. After all, it's nothing in comparison to what your mother's done for you. With COVID-19 around, however, it's irresponsible to step out on any day if the journey isn't necessary.

If you're thinking "Come on, it's just a quick cake run. What's the worse that could happen? "Well, we've got news for you: That's what everyone else was thinking, too. Check out the photos from the crowded hell that was Mother's Day weekend below.

In a statement, Joey Garcia, CEO of Conti's,  reassured the public of its committment to safety and that all its stores were immediately reminded to enforce physical distancing with the help of local government officials.

"Rest assured that we have been implementing precautionary measures, such as wearing of masks and physical distancing to name a few, including more stringent sanitation procedures since the beginning of ECQ. We plead to everyone who intend to visit our store to continue helping us in ensuring the safety of everyone. Please know that we are working every day to improve our process to adjust to this “new normal”.
