This Amazing Milky Way Photo Over Metro Manila Is Out of This World

If there's no air or light pollution, it's possible to see the Milky Way galaxy wherever you are. Back then, that meant far away from Manila, but thanks to less pollution, we're getting a slightly clearer view of the galaxy from the city.

The Philippine Astronomical Society recently shared a picture of the Milky Way taken from Manila, over the city lights of Makati and Quezon City. The photo was shared as part of its #AstroAtHome series where they deliver astro discussions.

Photographed by the Philippine Astronomical Society president Kashogi Astapan, the galactic center is barely visible even with just some minor enhancements.

According to the organization, "the clear sky, new moon, less air pollution, and less light pollution than usual made this photo possible." If you look hard enough, you can even spot the galactic cores between Scorpius and Sagittarius, as well as Saturn, Mars, and Jupiter.

Let's all enjoy the drop in pollution while it lasts.
