A Casino Resort Property Will Grow Its Own Produce Through This High-Tech Onsite Farm System
The next time you find yourselves dining at one of the restaurants at Newport World Resorts (formerly Resorts World Manila), the produce on your plate might literally be “homegrown.”
That’s because the integrated casino resort property invested in an onsite hydroponic system to grow fresh herbs and vegetables that will ultimately be used in the dishes served at the restaurants there.

This ILE Urban Farm, developed by a Malaysian startup called BoomGrow, uses a state-of-the-art Indoor Precision Farming technology supported by artificial intelligence to grow farm-fresh produce throughout the year. The system itself is located within a temperature-controlled container truck located just outside of Marriott Hotel Manila.
This is the first location for the high-tech hydroponic system from BoomGrow outside of Malaysia.
The hotel, which is part of the Newport World Resorts complex, has taken the lead in the onsite farm project, which is part of the property’s I Love Earth sustainability program. The property’s Healthy, Responsible, and Sustainable Sourcing initiatives include sustainable seafood offerings and cage-free egg use.
Newport World Resorts’ I Love Earth sustainability program is, in turn, part of Alliance Global Group’s wider SustainAGIlity initiative.
