The Rega x Eraserheads Custom Turntable Sold Out in Minutes After Online Drop
About 75,000 fans trooped to the SMDC concert grounds in Parañaque for the Eraserheads’ nearly four-hour reunion concert last December 22. Arguably the most influential Filipino band ever, the Huling El Bimbo show saw the foursome of Ely Buendia, Marcus Adoro, Raimund Marasigan and Buddy Zabala play their biggest hits in a nearly three-decade long career. The band was also recently part of Esquire Philippines Man at His Best awardees.

A day after Christmas, Offshore Music dropped a limited edition Eraserheds-themed Rega turntable which was personally conceptualized by Buendia himself. Designed by Team Manila, the announcement of the sale was posted on Facebook last December 23rd.
The handmade custom turntables were sold for P29,000. The drop started at exactly 12 noon and was reportedly sold out online in just a few minutes. (Trust me, I also tried to order online). I wouldn’t consider it a princely sum considering you can play the band’s nostalgic hits in analog hi-fidelity quality music like “Shake Yer Head.”
This wasn’t the first collaboration between a Filipino artist and the renowned UK turntable brand. Rega had two collaborations with Filipino artist Bencab with two limited edition models, which were also sold out almost immediately. The value of these turntables has since skyrocketed after every unit was sold out, so expect the prices of the new Rega X Eraserheads units to follow the pricing trends.
