Study Says Women in Medical Professions Are Most Likely to Cheat

Apparently, career choices and infidelity are somehow connected
Comments

A new study by extramarital affair dating website Ashley Madison revealed that men and women’s career choices and their tendency to cheat are somehow connected.

For the survey, the website polled 1,074 its users—who have members since 2002—to find out which profession had the most cheaters. According to the data, majority of those with stressful careers tend to engage in extramarital affairs: the medical profession for women (23 percent) and the trades for men (29 percent).

“A combination of long hours of potential stress mixed with a natural reaction to stress just might be the reason these women in the medical profession seek out an affair,” Isabella Mise, Director of Communications at Ashley Madison, said in a press release. “Jobs in teaching, entrepreneurship, and finance also all topped the list for female members.”

Here’s the complete list of cheating women’s professions based on the Ashley Madison data.

Medical – 23 percent
Education – 12 percent
Entrepreneur – 11 percent
Finance – 9 percent
Social Work – 9 percent
Retail/Hospitality – 9 percent
Information Technology – 8 percent
Marketing Communications – 4 percent
Trades – 4 percent
Legal – 4 percent
Arts/Entertainment – 4 percent
Politics – 1 percent

Meanwhile, here’s the list for the men:

Trades – 29 percent
Information Technology – 12 percent
Entrepreneur – 11 percent
Retail/Hospitality – 8 percent
Finance – 8 percent
Marketing/Communications – 6 percent
Medical – 5 percent
Legal – 4 percent
Education – 4 percent
Arts/Entertainment – 3 percent
Agriculture – 3 percent
Social Work – 2 percent

But of course, even if your partner's profession is included above, it doesn't automatically mean that they're cheating. As always, findings here may not be true for all couples, so don't panic.
