Tenement's Newest Release Is Hoops Floor Action for the Home
Local independent lifestyle label Tenement’s newest release is something that’s, quite literally, very close to home. The Loyola Heights-based brand has been prolific with dishing out the freshest clothing since it was founded in 2016. With basketball playing an integral part in their products’ design, the good folks at Tenement evidently take pride in as well as draw inspiration from their hoops roots.
The five-year old brand’s icon, the Peaceball, is a hand flashing a peace sign while simultaneously spinning a basketball. Resembling the Larry O’Brien trophy, it represents how teamwork really does make the dream work. It also symbolizes community, inclusivity, and a shared devotion to the game we Filipinos have a common undying passion for.
Tenement celebrates the subculture and has pioneered the local lifestyle space that exists beyond the sport. It has organized events such as the annual on-day 3x3 tournament in partnership with Gatorade, collaborated with local artist Pasteplant on a concept shop at Secret Fresh Gallery, and has given back to the community through initiatives with Unicef Philippines and the non-profit organization Girls Got Game.
For 2021, Tenement’s first product release is the Peaceball Area Rug, their debut venture into home goods. Hand-tufted, die-cut, and shining the spotlight on the beloved Tenement icon, the rug measures 24-inch by 14-inch and is perfect for the endless hours we all spend at home now more than ever.
“With all the action being indoors nowadays, it inspired us to create a product that would bring energy to your space,” Tenement People’s Homebase Team says. Available in limited stocks, the rug comes in three colors: blue, green, and red.
