UP and DLSU Are Part of the Top Universities in the World for 2021

The Times Higher Education (THE) has recently released the World University Rankings 2021.

For the fifth year in a row, Oxford University figured in the top story for the THE's annual ranking. While Stanford University followed at the second spot after climbing from the previous year's fourth spot.

The rankings include more than 1,500 universities in 93 countries—making it the largest out of all the university rankings in the world. According to THE, the scores are based on teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook.

Only two universities from the Philippines figured in this year's list, with UP leading at the 401 to 500 bracket with scores of 23.5 in teaching, 16.0 in research, 86.7 in citations, 39.5 in industry income, and 33.4 in international outlook. De La Salle University ranked at the 1,000 bracket with scores of 18.2 in teaching, 12.7 in research, 22.4 in citations, 33.4 in industry income, and 26.9 in international outlook.
