'Call Me By Your Name' Finally Gets a Philippine Release Date

IMAGE Columbia Pictures

Film critics have had only great things to say about Luca Gaudagnino's Call Me By Your Name, a summer romance film that's currently one of the frontrunners for Best Picture at the Oscars. The film, which stars Timothee Chalemet as Elio, opposite Armie Hammer as Oliver, has been unanimously lauded for its sensuous physicality and its unabashed eroticism.

Naturally, local audiences have been quite excited (and vocal about their excitement) for the possibility of a local screening. The Cinema One Originals Festival managed to line it up for a few screenings, but those were too few and far between compared to how hotly anticipated this movie is. Thankfully, a nationwide release date has been confirmed: January 31, 2018 at select Ayala cinemas.

That's over a month away, so for now, you'll have to make do with a twelfth run of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and then Ang Larawan next week.
