Netflix Is Planning to Launch 40 Anime Titles in 2021

Anime is getting bigger and bigger on Netflix, and it's about to get even better. According to reports, Netflix is bringing more Japanese-style anime titles to the platform.
Netflix made the announcement during AnimeJapan 2021, virtually, over the weekend. The streaming service is planning to introduce 40 more titles on top of its current offerings. "Netflix strengthens its ongoing commitment to become a home for fans and creators around the world, noting it will premiere around 40 new original anime titles this year—close to double the number of titles brought to fans last year," Netflix said in a statement.

We want to be able to pride ourselves as being the top entertainment destination with good quality content," Taiki Sakurai, Netflix’s chief anime producer, said in an interview from Bloomberg. "The growth of our business is directly connected to the growth of our anime."
One of the most-awaited titles, of course, is Trese which is the Philippines' very first anime. Created by Budgette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo, the titular character Alexandra Trese will be voiced by Liza Soberano and Shay Mitchell for the Filipino language version and the English version, respectively.
