Tony Stark's Final Thought is Revealed in The 'Avengers: Endgame Script
The Avengers: Endgame script has revealed the heartbreaking final thought of Tony Stark. Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man met his maker in the fourth Avengers instalment earlier this year, when he put on his own Infinity Gauntlet in order to banish Thanos (Josh Brolin) and his Black Order, sacrificing himself in the process.
Disney has since released the full Avengers: Endgame script ahead of the Hollywood awards season, so for the first time Marvel fans can see exactly what was going through Tony's mind before he died.
Warning: it's pretty emotional.
The script shows the moment he's comforted by his wife Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) after she learns he will die from his injuries. Heartbreakingly, it seems Tony has regrets, as his final thought is: 'I'm sorry.'
Pepper: "Tony, look at me. We're going to be okay."
The next direction reads: "He stares at her, tears welling. I'm sorry."
The emotional reveal follows the release of the deleted Katherine Langford Avengers: Endgame scene on Disney+, in which she plays a grown-up version of Tony and Pepper's daughter. The script also included three more Avengers: Endgame deaths that weren't shown in the final cut: Wong (Benedict Wong), Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and Secretary Thaddeus Ross (William Hurt).
