All The Avengers: Endgame Trailer Details You Might Have Missed
Any productive activity came to a halt on Thursday evening when Marvel dropped the full trailer for the long-awaited Avengers: Endgame. In just a few hours the trailer already has more than 10 million views as diehard fans watch those two minutes and 22 seconds on repeat looking for any clues that hint at what the final chapter in this era of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has in store. Here are eight details from the new Avengers: Endgame trailer you might have missed.
8| The Statue of Liberty light
New York is looking pretty decimated. It seems that the waters around the island of Manhattan have become something of a harbour for the survivors. But the Statue of Liberty’s light is still on. Is that symbolic of the Avengers’ resilience?
7| Hawkeye’s daughter
In the comics, a few women have taken on the mantel of Hawkeye. One of those characters is Kate Bishop. Though she’s not Clint Barton’s biological daughter, she goes by “Hawkeye” in the Young Avengers, and has been Clint’s protege. Here it looks like Clint is training his daughter. Will she be the MCU’s take on a woman Hawkeye?
6| The Avengers are under attack
Hawkeye can be seen leaping away from an explosion. Based on the background, it looks like he’s in the Avengers jet. With half the world dusted, who’s attacking the Avengers?
5| War Machine and Rocket
These two have barely had any screen time together thus far. Here it seems like they are finally teaming up. With Rocket donning some goggles, it seems like there may be a pretty intense mission at hand. Luckily, these two have some of the heaviest artillery.
4| Hawkeye has gone full goth-punk
It looks as if Clint has gone through some big changes. In the end of Age of Ultron, the archer resigned from the Avengers. He seems to be enjoying a quiet life with his family, from the looks of the father/daughter scene in the beginning of the trailer. But later scenes hint at a big change. Donning the new “Ronin” look from the comics, he seems to have turned into something of a rogue assassin. He’s even got a very moody new haircut. Now, Cap is trying to convince him that they “will” prevail. Let’s face it. Clint’s family was probably dusted. That may explain his cringy new grimdark look.
3| “Whatever it takes”
This theory comes direct from Reddit. One of the main themes of this trailer is the line “whatever it takes.” But you’ll notice that only four Avengers say this line: Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Iron Man. With Chris Evans’s contract up after Endgame, and Hawkeye looking like he’s got nothing left to lose, Redditors think these four may sacrifice themselves to save humanity.
2| Looks like some time travel is afoot
Many fans theorise that time travel will play a huge role in this film. Some on-set leaks showed familiar events from previous films. Here we see Thor in a shot that looks like Infinity War’s ending, and Cap wearing his Civil War uniform and shield. Does this confirm that we’ll be revisiting some older timelines?
1| The space suits
The ending shows the Avengers donning shiny new white suits. They look almost like astronauts here. Could they be going to space to face Thanos? Or, since Ant-Man is there, perhaps the Quantum Realm?
