'Captain Marvel' Gets its First Trailer and Poster, Introducing the MCU's Strongest Hero Yet

Let the hype commence. The long-awaited first look at Captain Marvel just dropped: a full trailer plus a poster that's sure to get you excited for the next installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As in the official images that were released by Entertainment Weekly earlier this month, we see Brie Larson as Carol Danvers becoming Captain Marvel. It opens with her falling from the sky and crashing into a well-known relic of the decade in which this is set: Blockbuster Video, a reminder 90s America. Later on in the trailer, we get a peek at some off-planet scenes, plus Agent Phil Coulson with a little more hair, Nick Fury without his eyepatch, and Jude Law as Mar-Vell. The titular hero also punches an innocent-looking grandma at one point, but this will likely be explained by the fact that the alien race in this story, the Skrulls, have shapeshifting powers.
