Citizen Jake Might Just Have a Nationwide Screening

It's set to be submitted to the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board.

After an exclusive premiere on March 10 and a public screening three days later, it's been announced that movie buffs have another chance to watch award-winning auteur Mike de Leon's Citizen Jake. There'll be another public screening on March 23 at 7 p.m. at the University of the Philippines - Diliman's Cine Adarna.

While this may be good news for those who missed out on the first two screenings, it might just be the last public screening for a while. That is, until after the movie gets submitted to the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board and gets a rating so it can be screened around the country.

Many users have been commenting on Citizen Jake's Facebook page asking for more, if not nationwide, screenings. In a reply to one of the comments, the people behind Citizen Jake reveal, "The 23rd may be temporarily the last sponsored screening date. We are preparing to submit the film to the MTRCB for classification. We shall see what happens after."

There have also been previous replies to other users, saying that it hasn't been an easy task getting the film to a wider audience through a nationwide release. "The limited screenings will end soon. We are trying our best to get a wider regular release for the film. We hope we can count on your support."

Mike de Leon himself, also through a comment, assures the public that they're trying their best to have the film be seen by as many people as possible. "We will continuously update everyone on the status of the film, whether good or bad. We would appreciate your support in helping this film reach a wider audience. I cannot thank you enough for all your support," he says.
