Don't Watch the New Trailer for 'Creed II' Unless You're Ready to Hit The Gym Later

Michael B. Jordan is somehow even more ripped than when we last saw him.

Earlier this year, we saw Michael B. Jordan become one of supehero cinema's greatest antagonists as Erik Killmonger in Black Panther. It's a role he had to prepare for rigorously, even going as far as to keep a diary for Killmonger, filling it with dark thoughts to help him embody the character. The result, as we've seen, is a nuanced portrayal of a perfectly gray villain—one whom some audiences even rooted for.

He also had to prepare for his Black Panther role physically, training two to three times a day, six days a week to build a supervillain-worthy body. And because his gains were so enviable, Esquire even put together a Killmonger workout plan involving hypertrophy training and a high-calorie diet.

But stupendously, Jordan is back in another movie this year, and is somehow even more ripped than he was as Killmonger. It's the sequel to his 2015 Rocky spin-off, Creed, in which he plays Adonis Creed, son of Apollo. Creed II just got its first trailer earlier today, and clearly Jordan hasn't stopped hitting the gym:

To face off with Viktor Drago, son of his father's rival Ivan, Adonis will have to be in the best shape of his life. That's why Jordan's trainer, Corey Calliet, had his work cut out for him. Earlier this year, Calliet told Esquire that the goal was for Jordan to get "aesthetically more ripped," which meant more cardio training—jumping rope, high intensity interval training, loads of boxing—and some weight training.

"When we go to Philly, it's going to be like boot camp. We're just going to be eating and training all day: eat, train, take a break; eat, train, take a break; eat, train, all day long," Calliet said.

Based on this new trailer, it looks like all of it paid off. Now, if only you could haul your ass to the gym for once.

Catch Creed II when it hits theaters in the Philippines on November 28.
