Sunshine de Leon’s Curiosity, Adventure & Love will be in cinemas starting tomorrow, January 18

Shining a light on the cruelty of war and the rebuilding of a nation, Curiosity, Adventure & Love is a pilgrimage into the extraordinary life and imagination of Jessie Lichauco, whose personality calls to mind Scarlett O’Hara and Amelia Earhart, as she contends with the pressing issues of the times in a way that augurs warmly for our future.  

At 104 years old, Jessie sits in her Spanish colonial home and draws protection from an ancient banyan tree, regaling visitors with photographs and stories of an earlier time in history. Her granddaughter, Sunshine Lichauco de Leon, is the film’s director and co-writer.

The documentary, told through Jessie's poignant memories of war and the grueling transitions in Philippine history, won the Special Jury Prize at the 2016 World Premieres Philippines Film Festival.  

Curiosity, Adventure & Love will be shown at Power Plant Mall Cinemas from January 18-24, 2017. The screening on January 18 at 7:45 PM includes a Q&A session with Sunshine de Leon. For tickets and all other dates, refer to the Power Plant Cinemas Website.
