Elvis Presley's Heir Only Has Good Things to Say About Baz Luhrmann's Biopic About Her Father

Almost a decade in the making, the highly-anticipated Elvis Presley biopic by Baz Luhrmann is only weeks away from premiering around the world. Critics are chomping at the bit to watch the award-winning director’s latest film, but Elvis has already received the most important criticism of all—the approval of Elvis Presley’s daughter and only child, Lisa Marie Presley.
Lisa, who is a musician like her father, has only good things to say about Baz Luhrmann’s musical biopic. In a series of tweets, Presley sang praises for the movie, going as far as to call it “nothing short of spectacular” and “absolutely exquisite.” Presley complimented Austin Butler, who played Elvis in the movie, for channeling and embodying her “father’s heart and soul.”
“You can feel and witness Baz’s pure love, care, and respect for my father throughout this beautiful film, and it is finally something that myself and my children and their children can be proud of forever,” said Presley.
Elvis’ ex-wife and Lisa’s mother also praised the movie, sharing that she believes viewers will “will understand a little bit more of Elvis’ journey,” and that, “the story, as we all know, does not have a happy ending.”
With the Presleys' approval, Elvis is clearly a must-watch this summer. Watch out for the film’s release in cinemas in the Philippines.
